This is a very simple way to utilize any leftovers you may have from your St. Patrick's Day arrangement (check my previous blog post), or just a beautiful boutonniere to make for any special occasion. Materials
Procedure 1. Take one white carnation and cut the stem so that it is about an inch or two in length. Then fluff out the flower to make it look bigger and more open 2. Take the piece of floral wire and insert it horizontally towards the bottom of the base 3. You are then going to take the ends of the floral wire and push them down towards the stem, pushing them as tightly together and close to the stem as you can 4. Next, take your piece of leather leaf and put it against the back of your carnation (leaves can be removed to make the backing as small as desired) 5. Use the floral tape to attach the leaf to the carnation and wire- to make this tape function, you must pull tightly and twist around then stems at the same time 6. Take your button mum and cut the stem the same length as the carnation's 7. place it towards the back, near the leather leaf, and use the tape to attach it 8. If desired, you can curl the end of the stems and wire on a pencil Enjoy your boutonniere!
Are you looking for new ways to decorate your home for the St. Patrick's holiday? If so, then read below to learn how to make this elegant centerpiece that you can make in a few short minutes for a great price. This is similar to the christmas arrangement that I made a blog post on a few months ago if you want to check that one out as well! Materials
Procedure 1. Green your foam with 2-4 stems of leather leaf creating a “round” type shape. Make sure to cover the container. 2. Once your foam is greened, place four white carnations in the corners, Be sure to lightly open them by using the technique of rubbing the green part in between your fingers to “fluff” the flower. 3. You will then place your 5th carnation in the center of the foam block 4. Next, you will place 4 Spider Mums in between the carnations 5. Next, you will “fill” in your arrangement with the green Button Mums where there are “blank” areas creating a “round” shape. 6. Insert the baby’s breath filler into the arrangement to cover any “holes” or areas where you can see the floral foam. Enjoy your arrangement!

In order to be successful as a florist, there are several personality traits one should possess. Creativity is one of them; without creativity, all floral arrangements would look the same, if they even existed at all. Being creative is important for making the beautiful arrangements you hope to receive. This can also be used to ensure that budgets can be met. In addition to creativity, it is also equally important to be organized, great listeners, etc. These skills are both important in order to meet deadlines, give the customer what they want, and just to ensure that you come across as pleasant when meeting with a customer. And then there are some traits that could do you as much bad as the ones listed above do you good. Some traits you would not wants to display as a floral designer are disorganization, being rude, laziness, and boring. It would be a bad thing if you possessed these traits because it would leave the customer satisfied and not coming back for more. As a florist, it would be a goal to please the customer, so they are happy, and you make money. If you are lazy, boring, and disorganized, arrangements may not look as good as they would if you were a person with the traits in the first paragraph.
